Accomplishments
- Tried more marketing of Chamber events in the media
- Increased the awareness of the Chamber presence
- Printed and distributed a Membership Directory
- Designed new Chamber logo

- Sponsored:
- Pictures with the Easter Bunny - an event for the children of the community
- Chamber Golf Outing - fundraising activity, promotes networking opportunities and allows advertising venue for our members
- Halloween Event - an activity for the children of the community
- Hometown Winter Holiday - showcases Dyer; an event for everyone in the community
- Began holding general membership meetings in the morning
- Donated to the Dyer Freedom Fest, Dyer Hometown Celebration, Dyer Parks Department
- Began taking credit card payments
- Increased membership
- Participated in and won the Freedom Fest Bed Race
- Purchased 33 American flags for display around Dyer streets
- Held a candidate forum for the Dyer Town Council election
- Purchased more Holiday decorations for the Town
- Continued quality of life commitment by caroling during the Winter Holiday at two Dyer nursing homes
Goals
- Complete the launch of our new Chamber web site
- Revitalize and expand membership packet information
- Revisit Chamber By-Laws and Mission Statement
- Expand communication opportunities between Chamber members and Directors
- Ask members for comments/suggestions/ideas; making the Chamber more responsive to its members
- Cut response time to member's requests
- Develop support mechanism to assist Chamber members in time of need
- Make our Chamber Easter, Halloween and Hometown Winter Holiday Events free of charge to the public
- Purchase color laser printer to cut costs and expand, colorize the Chamber Newsletter
- Publish and distribute new Membership Directory
- Return the Chamber presence to the Dyer Freedom Fest and attend the Dyer Hometown Celebration. Both will allow more networking opportunities with the public
- 50:50 charity raffle started at our general meetings
- Maintain the Chamber military honor flag display on US 30
- Continue assisting the Dyer Department of Public Works by purchasing more American flags for Dyer streets
- Maintain or increase our philanthropy to worthwhile local charities
- Produce membership plaques with the new Chamber logo
- Continue to improve our Hometown Winter Holiday Event
- Continue to support business and quality of life issues in our community
- Plan January 2009 Annual Dinner Dance for more fun and better opportunity to build relationships
